The Low-Down #1003

Posted on April 27, 2025February 7, 2026 by Cyan

I am on a hiatus… Being in a industry of flowers, this is one of the 2 busiest times for me. One being Valentine’s… and now, Mother’s Day. While it is still weeks away, selling flowers to florists happens earlier than customers buying flowers for their Mother. Right now, I am in the middle of logistic janga with trucks, airlines, and shipping. So… writing is on the back burner until after the holiday.

I think one of the biggest downfalls and/or drawbacks for me and writing is that I have so many ideas and I want to write everything all at once. BUT… if I have too many “works in progress” nothing gets done. I need to chose one.

Once I am back in the groove, I will begin looking at one book to write and publish at a time. The chapters will go up as a WIP for people to read online. There are various schools of thought when it comes to posting chapter by chapter—behind a pay wall or free for everyone. While, it may seem that I am going in circles… Well, I am.

Meanwhile, what am I doing with my free time. READING.

Every author should read. It’s how we get better. One of the things I will begin doing on this Substack is posting book reviews. While I am not accepting ARCs, I am reading books that interest me. Currently, I am reading the Corey Feldman biography. But… here is a review of the last book I finished, a Sapphic horror.

Okay… This is all for today. Enjoy your weekend, and I’ll chat with you soon.

Cyan LeBlanc is a transqueer novelist who began writing in 2008 in a wide variety of genres including romance, erotica, thrillers, and most recently, horror. With over 18 novels and novellas, he’s focused solely on writing Sapphic characters and stories (women loving women), but there’s always an underlying love story, even when the main character is a flesh-hungry cannibal.

Cyan has also written under the former pen names: J.R. Morgan and Jae T. Ryter.
