Maybe a cover reveal… maybe the hints of a cover reveal?
I’m in the muck of an extensive rewrite of books zero of the girl/Mistress series, Cause and Effect. Not only am I giving this book a line by line edit, I am also moving the story scenes around to make it more chronological. A definite expanded version, for sure.
With this book being part of the girl/Mistress universe, it never followed the same format as the other five books. The title wasn’t a Bif Naked songs… it didn’t have section titles that were based on songs either. This was the only book in the series that jumped between past and present. A source of contention with myself over it.
And while I loved the original cover art for all the girl/Mistress books, I decided to work with cover artist Christy Aldrich for a vintage pulp fiction look. Christy is an amazing and talented artist who mostly works with horror writers. This is her first collaboration in the romance genre and I must say, I am seriously in awe over the final finished product, which I am not sharing today–only hinting. Christy is hand drawing the covers. No AI ever!!!!
Another issue with the original releases of girl/Mistress books came from inexperience in publishing. Not all of the books were the same size. So on a shelf, the series is a mangled mess. Because of this, the original books will be delisted from Amazon when we create the newly edited and expanded versions. Each new release will be issued in eBook, paperback, and the an exciting mass market paperback size like those vintage pulp books from the 50s.
As I am working on these edits, I will also be planning/writing book 6 of the series, as well as some extra content which may or may not be enough for some insertable short stories, like a book 2.5 or something like that.
This girl/Mistress series is like my torch song, something that will continue to grow as I do…
My hope is that you all love the new and improved girl/Mistress and stay around to how my baby turns out as a collection.
