Alyssa feels the need to cope with her past traumas. CONTENT WARNING: self-harm
CHAPTER 12
She hadn’t expected her body to rebel in front of Rachel at work. No matter how much therapy she went through over the years after she freed herself, it had not changed anything.
Alyssa hated the memories.
It was part of the reason she drowned out the silence with music or movies. She hated taking the chance on a memory returning at the wrong time, like it did earlier that day with Rachel. If she kept to herself, situations such as these would not exist.
Once the horror returned to her thoughts, Alyssa needed to remove it.
Loud music? Helped.
Movies? It depended on the movie.
Pain? Yes, it usually did the trick.
Salvador needed to die.
Alyssa needed to step away and free herself from the grip Salvador held on her. Shirtless, Alyssa held the kitchen knife to the side of her waist and sliced.
It felt as if she cut the head off the beast named Salvador. She didn’t love Salvador like she had said she did when she was barely becoming a woman.
She hated Salvador.
