Okay, maybe not that high of a number, but here’s what’s going on…

Hey look… new newsletter banner!

The Low-Down is essentially my new newsletter title. Fans and subscribers will be able to know a newsletter by its title. Yes, I will continue to post editorials such as my one on the end of NaNoWriMo that posted this week.

Now on with the Low-Down…

In my personal life, over the past two weeks, I’ve been in work mode with prebooks for Mother’s Day. Anyone whose been with me for a while knows I sell flowers to florists. So, this is one of my busy seasons. There hasn’t been much writing because of that. On top of that, my friend from Houston came and visited. That took up the rest of my free time.

A month or so ago, I moved everything over to Kindle Unlimited. That was before the “Amazon Black-Out” came about. While the first month was good, so far KU reads have been almost nothing. Trying to find the sweet spot for most options, it seems like KU might not be the answer with our current administration. Sapphic and queer authors are being are in limbo of how to keep from being shut down when readers are finding new options for reading. Many popular authors are utilizing newsletters, mailing lists, and websites to provide their work at lower prices or subscriptions.

The author world is a never-ending game of Janga, trying our best to accommodate everyone but also doing what is best for our careers. Its not that we are wishy-washy, but the market is always changing and indie authors need to adapt. We will see what happens at the end of the 3-month run of KU books.

The novella, Mirage, will be finding a chapter-by-chapter home on my website for subscribers. Because of some release rights between GA Rea and myself, the book is available on Google Books and therefore, can not be released on KU.

Mirage is the first book in a series of 4. Oddly enough, we wrote book #3 before we released book #1. Yes, I know. Crazy. The series has been in limbo due to some creative differences between GA and myself—Let’s just say one approves of AI writing and the other doesn’t.

GA has decided to leave the project and go a different direction with a new pen name. No, I don’t know what it is officially, but I have my suspicions. Nonetheless, the four-part story has been turned over to me to continue without AI. Once I finish posting “Mirage,” I will begin the process of writing the second book in the series and posting for subscribers.
