And here we are in the waiting gave of ACX (Amazon’s audiobook division which publishes to Audible).
Funeral of a Good Girl is finished and uploaded. Almost immediately, we had to book kicked back due to the cover art not matching the meta data. Uhm, huh? It is literally the same as the eBook except square and we added the narrators name to it.
I gave the audiobook cover a polish, increased the font size of everything and submitted it again. This time, it has not been kicked back YET. That is a good sigh.
During my last audiobook submissions, nothing was kicked back. One went through within a week. The next one took a month. So here we are…. waiting.
Meanwhile, Megan Cook has been the second book in the series and just finished the first 15 sample.
Dark Waters Ahead has had a rough go from the beginning. A million and one narrated “virtual voice” samples for it but I am looking for a live narrator. Because the main character in this book is a male, I opened it to be both genders. I had a guy who seemed to have the sound I could hear for Scott.
Well… he uploaded the first 10 chapters to ACX and I wasn’t thrilled. Even in the sample, I told him to slow down is cadence as this was romance not some action thriller where speed equals intense. I gave him feedback on them and he quit the project. I guess that was a blessing.
Back to auditions. This time, I found a live narrator and a female. Finding narrators to work for a share vs upfront costs is hard to find. You have to dig to find decent ones.
I came up with Payton Kristen Broussard. Fingers crossed this works out.
I’ve been pushing ahead with Thorns of Yesterday and the second draft. I’ve published through chapter 9 on this website, but I have updated all the way to Chapter 16.
The first book of the Velvet series, Mirage is posting also. Chapter 5 went up yesterday.
As my books come off of Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited program, I will be working to load them to the website, offering more content for those who want to upgrade their subscriptions. First on the agenda are the short stories. But no worries if you don’t wish to upgrade. Those books will still be available on Amazon and direct from my webstore.
On a personal note, I have one more week in Las Vegas then I am heading back to Denver (hopefully for good).
I’m looking forward to back to a nice routine.
Until then… grab a book and enjoy my writing.
Sounds great!
