Pausing for a moment to breathe.

It’s less than two weeks and 1027 miles away. When you have lived somewhere for 32 years, picking up and moving across the country is hard. There are so many factors to consider such as what goes and what doesn’t. I’ve lived in Southern California from 1971-1992 then in Houston. It’s now 2024 and time to pick up my life once more and journey to the unknown.

It is so unknown that we don’t even have a place to live.

This is why I’m going to take a long needed vacation. This coming week, I am finalizing the packing while doing my 9-5 job. After Thanksgiving, we have that 1027 mile trip to make in one car loaded up with clothes, necessities, and two unhappy cats. Once we get to Denver, we will be staying in a hotel until we find an apartment – all the while, both my wife and I have to work.

Since I work remotely, I just need my computer and a nice quiet space to work. But after putting in my full time job, everything is about locating housing. With that, it has proved difficult to keep writing during this move thus leading to my vacation from publishing for a moment.

If you are one of my paid subscribers, I will not be updating any stories for a minimum of two weeks. I hope to have some breathing time to squeeze a few chapters in, but want to be upfront when it comes to new content.

As for everyone else, this will be my last blog until I get to Denver and find a place. I am excited for this. Can you believe there is a Sapphic/Queer bookstore in Denver? I hope to be able to get some books in there and even possibly do some author signings in the future.

Looking toward the future, my job schedule will now be something like 5 am to 1 pm, which means that I will have a bit more time to plow through some chapters. Ultimately, I’d like to get writing something new for you. I’ve got ideas!!!

Thanks for sticking around with me… Until Denver, have a great Thanksgiving everyone!!!
