The official newsletter of Cyan LeBlanc

I’m only a two days late in writing my newsletter but that is because (for those of you who don’t know) I am a florist and I just had to barrel through the busiest two weeks of our year. While Valentine’s is only one day, it takes nearly a month of planning. Once the planning is done, it’s a week of preprepation. Then time comes to produce over a thousand floral arrangements. We go through nearly 10,000 roses for delivery February 12-14th. As you can see, I was a little busy.

BUT… after 29 years, I called it quits. This week was my final week as a florist. No, I don’t get to sit around and live a life of luxury and write 24/7. Nope, I have another job that I start in 3 days. While, I will still be in the floral industry… I will not running around like a chicken with its head cut off to delivery a thousand items in the 4th largest city in the country.

Now that I am home and done, I’m back to give you some updates of what I’m working on.

Deep Roots Down South” is a new working in progress I am focusing on. It’s a Sapphic horror based in the sixties, where racism influenced SE Texas. This is a extreme horror with supernatural elements. The prologue to this story is available to to all readers on my website. I’ll be updating this story as it’s written.

The story originated from completed rough first draft and I felt that story lacked true lead characters but I didn’t want our protagonists to be a couple. While there are some hot and steamy sex scenes, this is not a romance at all.

I’m up to Chapter 7 on Baby. I don’t think it’s gonna be a novel at this point. Most likely this will probably cap out about 35K, which means I am 10,000 words from ending it. Once it is finalized, I will run through edits and get it to my editor for release. I’m thinking mid-summer.

That’s all I have for this edition of The Peacock. Thanks for sticking around.
